What are the Fkeys, F1, F2, F3 ..., F12?

Fkeys are Function keys, numbered from F1 to F12. The purpose of the key is usually specific to an applicaition though there are some standards

FKeys are at the top row of the keyboard and hard to see. Normally you have to press the FN key which is lower left of keyboard and the Fkey to get it to work.

  • F3 - Find next
  • F5 - Refresh

  • F2 - Edit formula

    Excel/VBA
  • F8 - next statement in Debugger

    To change the FKeys so you don't have to press FN you have to boot your computer and hold the shift key down.
